H.O.P.E Eco Fashionista Fashion Contest at Klang Parade [Helping Our Planet Everyday]
Klang, Selangor, 26 Mar 2023 – In conjunction with Earth Hour, the Eco-Fashionista Fashion Contest showcased the amazing creativity and passion for sustainability.
The theme for the contest was “Waste-Free Wardrobe” where contestants, aged 12 and below, were required to dress up in costumes made out of recycled materials. Everyone was awe-inspired with the kind of stunning and innovative outfits our young eco-fashionistas came up with!
The 18 contestants today showed the world that fashion can be both beautiful and eco-friendly. The contestants happily walked in a parade around the mall while waiting for the results to be announced.
Syazwina Binti Mohd Taib, 12 years, emerged as champion with her elaborate peacock-like dress, which spelled out KLANG PARADE HOPE when it’s fully fanned out. Her mother, who designed the dress, was inspired by the traditional Malay headdress, and used items around the house to create the breathtaking dress in a day. Syazwina took home RM300 worth of cash and prizes.

2nd Runner-up : Che Thaqif Dzaqwan Che Mazlan
